Frequently Asked Questions

If you have any general questions about the retreat or Indigo Sails, they should be answered here. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, you can contact us directly and a member of our team will be in contact as soon as possible.

What type of cabin I might be assigned with?

The types of cabins provided by Indigo are single, double or a twin (bunk) bed cabins. Indigo allocates cabins by yacht availability. Cabin allocation depends on yacht size and other specifications as well as total number of Indigo participants. We also take into consideration “share a cabin” bookings and aim to match people who have chosen to share a cabin on the same yacht. We put a lot of effort into providing everyone with a good size double bed cabin, however, cabin allocation is ultimately dependent on the above circumstances. Even though yacht and cabin allocation is solely at Indigo’s discretion, if you have any special requirements, kindly let us know and we will try our best to accommodate your inquiry.

Is the entire cabin for myself only?

Yes, your total booking cost includes the cost for your own cabin accommodation. This means that you will be assigned with your own cabin unless you have decided and requested to share your cabin upon booking.

Can I swap my yacht, cabin, skipper or assigned Crewmates?

Indigo cannot guarantee the compatibility of the Skipper or other Crewmates allocated to the yacht. Due to paperwork involved and standard yacht charter practice, it is not possible to swap yachts, cabins, Skipper or your Crewmates. We kindly ask everyone on board to create a hassle-free environment, be respectful of space, be kind and understanding. Indigo will try its best to ensure a good fit and provide a satisfying yacht environment, but will not be responsible to move you or other Crewmates or Skippers into different cabins or to different yachts.

How does Indigo procure Yachts and Skippers?

Indigo hires yachts and skippers directly from verified Yacht Suppliers (Charter Companies and Manufacturers) with whom we have strong relationships based on quality and trust. Indigo will always try its best to ensure high quality 3, 4, or 5+ cabin yachts with great equipment and newer years of production. Indigo’s official yacht supplier is Euromarine Croatia, exclusive Jeanneau dealer (Euromarine | Exclusive Croatia Jeanneau Dealer). Indigo also has access to the world’s largest yacht charter portal (marketplace).

Indigo and Charter Company try their best to secure and assign you with first-rate Skippers by undertaking standard screening processes. Skippers are local and they know our sailing route like the back of their palm. They are also your primary point of contact for any questions regarding yacht and sailing. Skippers communicate directly with the Charter Company and the Indigo Team.

Who is responsible for Skipper’s food & beverages and how does it work? How much money should I plan for it?

You and Crewmates who have been assigned to the same yacht are responsible to provide your Skipper’s food and beverages throughout the journey. We advise you  to coordinate Skipper’s food & beverages with other Crewmates ahead of the arrival to the yacht. We also advise that you and other Bookers secure (put aside) about £50 in total per day (in Croatian Kuna currency) for Skipper’s food & beverages which are not included in the booking. You may hand over a total amount of money for a week for Skipper’s food & beverages to the Skipper upon your arrival or you are free to make other arrangements with your Skipper and the Crewmates directly. You are also encouraged to ask Skipper to join you for any meal you have on-board or in the restaurant. Your skipper is your Captain and friend.

When will I be assigned with my yacht and the cabin?

Indigo will assign you with the cabin and yacht 60 days prior to the Arrival date.

When assigned with the cabin and the yacht, you will be able to access data regarding the yacht and the cabin through your Member Log-in page. Here you will be able to access yacht specification, yacht and cabin layout, yacht equipment, images and other relevant info. Images and the layout are provided to provide you with a general idea of the type of yacht you are chartering and are based on official images provided by Charter Company. Sometimes, those images and layouts are not entirely reliable and there might be slight variations in person.

What is the Arrival date?

Arrival date is the start date of your Personal Development & Sailing Retreat booking date.

When will I be introduced to the Skipper and other Crewmates?

Indigo will introduce you to your assigned Skipper and other Crewmates assigned to your yacht 45 days prior to the Arrival date.

How will I be introduced to the Skipper and other Crewmates?

All information regarding the yacht, your allocated cabin, Skipper, Crewmates and more, will be communicated with you accordingly through your Member Log-in page, emails and notifications.

What is a yacht security deposit and how to handle it? How much money should I plan for it?

Yacht Supplier (Charter Company) will require you to submit a Yacht Security Deposit which is a refundable security deposit payable upon embarkation to cover policy deductible and can be paid in cash or by credit card (VISA, MASTERCARD). The security deposit will be refunded in its full amount unless there is damage or a defect on the yacht or on the equipment, found upon the return of the yacht. In case of loss or damage of the equipment, particular parts of the yacht or the yacht itself, the Charter company shall retain the amount (a part or the whole deposit), which corresponds to the value of repair, acquisition and / or purchasing the equipment or particular part of the yacht.

Yacht Security Deposit amount depends on size, type and specification of the assigned yacht. It can be anything between £1.800,00 and £2.500,00 and it is handled strictly between you, your Crewmates on the Yacht and the Charter Company directly. You will be notified upon Yacht Security Deposit amount once you are assigned with your Cabin and the Yacht.

We highly recommend and advise that you coordinate and communicate equal portions of Yacht Security Deposit per Cabin on the Yacht with other Crewmates prior to the Arrival date and to have credit card or cash equivalent to your portion upon the arrival.

What do I do if I notice or encounter some technical error or something out of order throughout the sailing?

In case of any technical malfunction on the Yacht during sailing, please communicate the problem with your Skipper immediately.

Are there any specific regulations and terms by a Charter Company that I should know?

Even though the majority of the Charter Company’s standard terms and conditions have been included in our Booking Terms & Conditions, Indigo will provide you with a separate copy of the Charter Company’s standard terms and conditions prior to your Arrival date  (including Complaints Policy; Yacht & Safety Equipment Requirements; Comfort Package Requirements; Insurance; Indemnity etc).

What if the Skipper causes damage? Do Skippers have their own insurance?

All Skippers from the Yacht Supplier (Charter Company) have their own insurance and they handle damages which they cause directly with the Charter Company. In this situation, it is solely Skipper’s responsibility to handle damages. To minimise any potential situations of that type, our Skippers operate on a 0% alcohol and drug policy.

What is a comfort package?

Comfort package involves good industry standards: final cleaning; bed linen and blankets sufficient for the Yacht’s maximum capacity; a dinghy; an outboard engine; bath towels sufficient for the yacht’s maximum capacity; 5GB WI-FI data (and on-board WIFI router).

WIFI?

5GB WI-FI data and on-board WIFI router are included. If you think you will need more data, please coordinate with the Charter Company directly upon your arrival. Kindly note that WIFI access while sailing between destinations is limited by a default due to WIFI infrastructure.

How much money should I plan for mooring and anchoring fees?

Mooring and anchoring fees vary from one destination to another and are also dependable on the yacht size and the season. Mooring fees can range from £50 per yacht per night to £200 per yacht per night. We recommend that you coordinate your portion for the mooring fees with your Crewmates and the Skipper prior to your Arrival. Some marinas and ports accept credit cards and others do not.

Can I pay for services in Croatia with my debit or credit card?

The majority of service providers in Croatia do accept all major debit and credit cards, but cash is still the preferred form of payment on the islands, we do recommend having a good amount of cash on hand.

How does yacht fuel work and how much money should I plan for it?

Your yacht will be fully fuelled and ready to go upon your arrival, but it is the responsibility of yourself and your Yacht Crewmates to return the Yacht fully fuelled. We highly recommend and advise that you coordinate and communicate equal portions of the Yacht fuel costs with your Crewmates prior to the date of departure and to have credit card or cash equivalent to your portion upon the Yacht return. Your skipper will do the physical yacht refuelling and you may also hand over the money for the Yacht fuel to the Skipper. Total estimated cost for the yacht fuel, for a week may range between £100 to £150.

What is Welcome Provisioning and stock re-filling?

Provisioning in yachting refers to food and beverages, cleaning products and some other stock-up on the yacht which awaits for you upon your arrival on the Yacht. Kindly note that kitchen, fridge and other space on the yacht is limited. Therefore, we can only stock up the basics for you prior to your Arrival to make your arrival more comfortable.

Even though the majority of your food and beverages are included throughout your Personal Development & Sailing Retreat, you will be responsible to provide your own food and beverages throughout the days where not all meals are included. In a given case, you may stock up and refill your current provisioning to have food and beverages on-board or simply explore some of the local restaurants. We kindly advise that you coordinate with your Crewmates regarding refilling your food  and beverage or other yacht supplies. Create a budget you are all happy with and cook together. Breakfast on-board is even more delicious when shared among same minded people.

About Indigo dinners

Majority of our dinners are buffet style. We have tried our best to include drinks with all dinners, but drinks included vary from dinner to dinner. Welcome and Goodbye events include: welcome drink (glass of prosecco and selection of local grappa’s); local red & white wine; selection of draft beers; juices and sodas; still and sparkling water. Other dinners might be limited to only a glass of wine, bottle of water and a cocktail drink.

Why are coffee breaks and lunch breaks combined throughout the Programme?

Majority of our workshops are being held in the morning till early afternoon. After the workshops, we have plenty of free time and activities. Therefore, coffee breaks with lunch add-ons (canapes, sandwiches and/or salads) have been designed to make sure you have plenty of energy for the workshops, but also not to overdo it and be able to explore local cuisine and authentic restaurants in your own free time. Basic coffee break includes: coffee; tea; milk; still and sparkling water; some draft juices such as orange juice, pineapple juice and apple juice; dry cookies and/or fruits and/or pastries. Basic coffee break is refreshed for lunch breaks and selection of sandwiches and salads are being added in addition to above coffee break items.

I have specific dietary requirements, what do I do?

You are responsible to inform us in writing of any allergies you might have at least two weeks prior to the Arrival date. You are also responsible to double check with the staff on the ground whether any of the items might contain any allergens which might put you into jeopardy. Indigo will take all reasonable actions to adjust and communicate your allergenic requirements, but will not be responsible for any incidents that might occur due to negligence of yourself and others.

Workshops held outdoors and in a casual environment vs meeting rooms?

Few workshops will be held on a Yacht throughout our sailing journey because our workshops have been tailored to provide academic knowledge and inspirational real life story telling. Therefore, we have ensured good balance between modern, fully equipped meeting rooms and outdoors facilities (on the yachts; next to privatised swimming pool area on a secluded island etc). Even though workshops have been tailored to empower your personal development transformation in an academic and inspirational  manner, no one says we can’t add a bit of fun to them.

What should my travel policy include?

Indigo does not sell or organise travel insurance. You must buy travel insurance on your own. You should make sure that your insurance policy covers adventurous activities such as sailing. Please read your policy carefully to ensure it complies with this requirement and covers all of the activities in which you will be participating. We strongly recommend your policy covers cancellation, personal liability, loss of personal property and travel disruption in the event of travel restrictions. It is a condition of your booking that you have a suitable travel insurance policy in place. Indigo does not accept any liability to those who travel without travel insurance.

Can the itinerary change?

The itinerary as provided to you may be affected by weather conditions and other uncontrollable situations. Even though Indigo tries its best to ensure the itinerary is followed as closely as possible, Indigo can not be held responsible for deviations in the itinerary due to circumstances outside its control. Your itinerary will be confirmed in its final form 60 days prior to the Arrival date.
